Cyprus and France update their Defence Cooperation Agreement

Cyprus and France are updating their Defence Cooperation Agreement, during an official visit to Paris

Defence Minister Christoforos Fokaides is paying an official visit to Paris, during which he will sign an updated version of the 2007 Defence Cooperation Agreement.

According to an announcement by the Press and Information Office, Fokaides departs on Monday for the French capital, where he is meeting with his counterpart Jean – Yves Le Drian.

During their meeting, they will sign a Defence Cooperation Agreement, updating the existing Defence Agreement signed in 2007. The new agreement will enhance and extent cooperation in areas such as energy and maritime security, terrorism and crisis management.

The two men will discuss bilateral relations, regional security issues and European affairs, the announcement concludes.
