A referee exchange programme for the 2022-2023 football season was signed on Wednesday between the Football federations of Cyprus and Croatia.
The Cyprus Football Federation said it was an important development with mutual benefits for both federations but also for Cypriot referees as they will have the opportunity to referee matches abroad.
The agreement provides for an exchange of referees who are registered in the first division of both countries.
It also provides for an exchange of referees who are part of the Elite Talent Mentor programme for the 2022-2023 football season as well as referee trainers.
The agreement was signed by the Cyprus Football Federation Chairman George Koumas and the Croatian chairman of the referee committee, Bruno Maric.
Koumas said he was very pleased with the signing of the agreement, underlining he is certain it will have mutual benefits for both countries.
Chairman of the Croatian Football Federation, Marijan Kustic said this experience will benefit the Cyprus football and will also contribute to further enhancing the relations between the referees of the two countries.
Meanwhile, the deliberations of the annual referee seminar that precedes the start of the Championship began today, with the participation of the referees and assistant referees of the Elite Category.
