Cyprus and China activate cooperation agreement in science and technology

The Republic of Cyprus and the People’s Republic of China activated their agreement in the area of science, technology and innovation, at a meeting in Beijing between the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism Stelios Himonas and China’s Vice Minister of Science and Technology Zhang Jianguo.

According to an announcement circulated by PIO, the agreement was signed on September 14, 2015, in Nicosia, in a bid to enhance bilateral relations with China.

Among others, the agreement provides that both sides will facilitate research and development of innovation projects, exchange information and practices and exchange visits of scientists and experts.

While in China, the Cypriot delegation discussed cooperation prospects with the Ministry of Science and Technology and visited Beijing University, the Tsinghua Science Park and Huawei research ceneter.
