Cypriot OSCE PA official Irene Charalambides participates in mission to Moldova

Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA) and Special Representative on Fighting Corruption, MP, Irene Charalambides, travels on Sunday to Moldova, to participate in a joint mission with the OSCE Polish Presidency Special Representative on Fighting Corruption, Anita Ramasastry.

A Cyprus House of Representatives press release said that this is the first time that representatives of the OSCE intergovernmental structures and the Parliamentary Assembly hold a joint mission, adding that Charalambides and Ramasastry will hold separate meetings with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, Vladimir Cuc, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Justice, Eduard Serbenco, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Moldavia, Mihail Popsoi and the Chair of the Committee for Legal Affairs, Immunities and Appointments of the Parliament, Olesea Stamate and members of the Committee.

They will also hold meetings with the head of the OSCE mission in Moldova, Ambassador Kelly Keiderling, the EU High Level Adviser on Fighting Corruption and the EU High Level Adviser on Legal Affairs, as well as the Deputy Director of the National Anticorruption Center.

Charalambides and Ramasastry will also address an event on good governance and the improvement of the investment climate in Moldova and will attend a working lunch with representatives of civil society organisations against corruption.

After that, Charalambides will travel to Warsaw to attend the OSCE PA 20th Autumn Meeting, during which she will chair a discussion on the economic and environmental impact of the war in Ukraine.
