Cypriot member of Parliament takes part in APA plenary session in Constantinople

Member of Parliament and one of the Vice Presidents of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, Nikos Tornaritis, underlined the significance in strengthening exchanges between Europe and Asia and the crucial role which Cyprus can play towards this.

He was speaking during meetings he held on the sidelines of the 11th plenary session of the APA held in Constantinople, a press release by the House of Representatives said.

The main issue on the plenary session is promoting economic prosperity in Asia. Tornaritis is expected to make a speech during Saturday’s deliberations.

The Cypriot MP also attended an official dinner hosted in honour of participants of the APA plenary by the Speaker of the Turkish National Assembly Binali Yildirim with whom he had a private conversation.

He also attended a church service at the Ecumenical patriarchate to honour its founder, Apostle Andreas’ feast day.
