Spehar briefs UN Security Council members on Cyprus issue

Spehar is also expected to refer to the forthcoming visit of Guterres personal envoy Jane Holl Lute to Cyprus.

Cyprus FM and Mogherini discuss EU role in efforts to resume Cyprus peace talks

Foreign Affaris Minister Nikos Christodoulides met today in Brussels with High Representative Federica Mogherini, with whom he exchanged views on current developments in the Cyprus problem, in the light of contacts the UN Secretary-Generals special envoy will carry out with all parties concerned in the coming days. They also talked about the crucial role the EU can play in efforts to resume the stalled Cyprus peace talks.

UN envoy will only meet the two leaders in Cyprus and report directly to Guterres

UN Secretary General’s personal envoy Jane Holl Lute will only have meetings with the two leaders, Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci, during her forthcoming visit to the island, UN Spokesperson here Aleem Siddique has told CNA. The UN official is set to have separate meetings with Anastasiades and Akinci on July 23. According to Siddique, Lute will not be available to the press during her visit but will report back directly to Antonio Guterres.

EU Commissioner King and Justice Minister call for collective action to address threats
