President hopes a UN Secretary-General envoy to explore talks resumption after Turkish elections

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades has expressed hope that it would be possible, following the Turkish elections of June 24th, for a special envoy of the UN Secretary General to explore through consultations with all stakeholders the creation of the conditions allowing for the resumption of Cyprus reunification talks.

Greek Justice Minister and Irish Foreign Minister to visit Cyprus

Statistics: Unemployment down, tourism revenue up, retail trade up

Unemployed persons, registered at Cyprus’ Labour Offices decrease by 7,083 persons or 23.7% in May 2018 y-o-y, according to the Statistical Service of Cyprus. It also said revenue from tourism recorded an increase of 27.8% y-o-y in March 2018. Meanwhile, Eurostat announced that retail trade increased in Cyprus 0.4% monthly and 8.7% annually in March 2018.
