The government of the Republic of Cyprus has referred the prosecution of Turkish Cypriot newspaper Afrika and its journalists Sener Levent and Ali Osman in Turkey to the OSCE and the EU, Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou has said.

The number of building permits issued in Cyprus in the first five months of 2018 rose by 9.6% compared with the respective period of 2017 with the value amounting to Euros 655 million owing to the increase in permits for large projects, Cyprus Statistical Service said on Wednesday. Building permits constitute a leading indicator of future activity in the construction sector.

Department of Meteorology issues extreme high temperature warning for Thursday

Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued an extreme high temperature warning for August 2nd. According to the yellow awareness level warning that was issued on Wednesday and is valid from 1300 until 1700 local time on Thursday, the maximum temperature will rise to around 40 degrees Celsius inland.

Industrial Output Prices increase in June

The Industrial Output Prices Index for June 2018 reached 100,2 units (base 2015=100), recording an increase of 0,3% compared to May 2018, according to the figures released today by the Statistical Service.
