UN Security Council renews UNFICYP mandate for another six months

The Security Council adopted unanimously on Tuesday resolution 2398, renewing for another six months the mandate of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP). Security Council members did not take the floor during the process. The Government has welcomed the adoption of the resolution.

The Index of Industrial Production reached 86.7 units (base 2010=100) in November 2017, increasing by 10.2% compared to November 2016, the Statistical Service of Cyprus reported on Tuesday.

New world indoor rowing record achieved in Cyprus

A new world record in indoor rowing was scored in Limassol. Thirty-two year-old rowing champion and coach, Aristotelis Ioannou, broke the world record in the men’s age category 30-39, with 1,000 metres in 3:00:2, breaking the previous record that he held of 3:00.3 since November 2017.
