President: If the UN Secretary General wishes, he could send a personal envoy to try resume the stalled peace talks

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades has not ruled out the possibility of a personal envoy of the UN Secretary General trying to look into the chances of resuming the stalled peace talks. He was speaking to the press after a two-hour long tA�te-A�-tA�te meeting with the Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci. In a press release, the UN said President Anastasiades and Akinci had a frank and open exchange of views. Sources said UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Rosemary DiCarlo has the most chances to become the next personal envoy of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Foreign Minister condemns use of chemical weapons, says there cannot be military solution in Syria

Cyprus President meets with May ahead of Commonwealth Meeting

March Harmonized Price Index down compared to March 2107, records increase compared to February

The Harmonized Price Index for March 2018 decreased by 0,4% when compared to March 2017, while compared to February of 2018 increased by 0,9%. For the period January-March 2018 the HICP recorded a decrease of -0,8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
