Turkish provocations in Cyprus EEZ hinder efforts for resumption of peace talks, National Council agrees
The National Council, the top advisory body to the President on the Cyprus issue, on Saturday agreed that the Turkish provocations in Cyprus exclusive economic zone hinder efforts for the resumption of the peace talks, under the UN aegis. The Council convened in the morning and issued an unanimous announcement it which it condemns Turkeys illegal activities. Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou read the announcement to the press pointing out that the Council has condemned the flagrant violation of the sovereign rights of the Republic of Cyprus by Turkey in the islands EEZ and all other illegal activities by Turkey that violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic.
FM briefs EU counterparts on Turkeys provocations in Cyprus EEZ
Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides travels to Brussels on Sunday afternoon to attend EUs Foreign Affairs Council where he will brief his counterparts on Turkeys provocations in Cyprus exclusive economic zone. A press release issued by the Foreign Ministry says that Christodoulides and his EU partners will exchange views on issues related the situation on Venezuela , Irans nuclear program , developments in Libya and Sahel.
Greek Cypriot – Turkish Cypriot teachers take part in seminars of Bi-communal Technical Committee on Education
A total of ten mono-communal trainings took place on Saturday with the participation of 250 teachers from all areas across the island and two bi-communal trainings by international experts took place with the participation of 50 Greek Cypriot and 50 Turkish Cypriot teachers. The Co-Chairs of the Bi-communal Technical Committee on Education, Dr. Meltem Onurkan Samani and Dr. Michalinos Zembylas also took part in the bi-communal teacher trainings.
