Government is proceeding with its energy plans, Spokesman Christodoulides tells CNA

The government is proceeding unhindered with its energy plans in cooperation with energy giants which are active in Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulides has told CNA. The Spokesman was invited on Thursday to comment on Turkish actions in Cyprus EEZ especially after the arrival of drilling vessel Saipem 12000, which is expected to begin drilling in field 6 of Cyprus EEZ.

Anastasiades-Hariri hold telephone conversation on regional developments and tripartite meeting

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades held on Thursday a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Lebanon, Saad Hariri. CNA has learnt that the conversation focused on regional developments and the possibility to convene a tripartite meeting with the participation of Greece and Lebanon.

Cyprus sees record tourist arrivals in November and first 11 months of 2017

There was a record of tourist arrivals in Cyprus last November and during the first 11 months of 2017, according to data released today by the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus.

On the basis of the results of the Passengers Survey, arrivals of tourists reached 144.676 in November 2017, compared to 124.192 in November 2016, recording an increase of 16.5%.

Industrial production index shows increase

The Index of Industrial Production for October 2017 reached 88,3 units (base 2010=100), recording an increase of 8,1% compared to October 2016. According to the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus, for the period January � October 2017, the index showed an increase of 7,3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The number of residents in Cyprus travelling abroad increases in November 2017

On the basis of the results of the Passengers Survey, 94.796 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in November 2017 compared to 93.354 in the corresponding month last year, recording an increase of 1,5%, according to the Statistical Service of Cyprus. In November 2017 there was an increase of 1,5% on the trips of residents to the United Kingdom (from 14.956 in November 2016 to 15.184 in November 2017).
