A Cyprus solution cannot diverge from the international and the European law, Greek President says

Pavlopoulos said this is the national policy supported by everyone, including President Anastasiades. Turkey has not set a date yet for Lutes visit to the country, government source in Nicosia tells CNA

Turkey has not yet determined a date on which the UN Secretary General’s envoy Jane Hall Lute can visit the country, in the framework of her mission on Cyprus, for discussions with the Turkish government, a government source in Nicosia has told CNA. We know that she has not been received in Turkey. He has asked to visit the country but Ankara has not given a date for this visit yet, the source noted, adding that Lute did not have so far any other official contact with Nicosia since her last visit to Cyprus.

House President travels to Israel for three � day working visit

President of the House of Representatives Demetris Syllouris will travel to Israel on Sunday for a three � day working visit, at the invitation of his Israeli counterpart Yuli-Yoel Edelstein. Syllouris will be received by President of Israel Reuven Rivlin and will meet with the Speaker of the Knesset Mr Edelstein, an official press release from the Parliament said on Saturday. The President of the House will hold contacts with Israel’s Minister for Regional Cooperation Tzachi Hanegbi and with members of the Israel-Cyprus Friendship Group in the Knesset.

FM to attend EU General and Foreign Affairs Councils and hold meetings with Mogherini and Katrougalos

Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides will participate on Monday at the meetings of the General and Foreign Affairs EU Councils in Brussels, a press release issued by the Foreign Ministry said. Furthermore, it noted that on the sidelines of the meetings, Christodoulides he will hold, among others, meetings with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and with Greek Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Katrougalos.

CMP signs Memoranda of Understanding with two US Federal Agencies

The Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP) has signed two Memoranda of Understanding with US Federal Agencies, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)’s Laboratory division and the US Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), which is the US government’s Agency responsible for locating, recovering, and identifying the remains of unaccounted-for Department of Defense personnel from past conflicts. The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation and coordination between the FBI and CMP laboratories, with a specific reference to scientific operations in the framework of human identification as well as the provision of training in this field.
