Cyprus-Greece-Israel summit to take place on Tuesday in Nicosia

A trilateral Cyprus-Greece-Israel Summit will be taking place in Nicosia on Tuesday morning, with the participation of President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. On Netanyahu’s arrival at the Presidential Palace, there will be an official welcoming ceremony, followed by a bilateral meeting between the delegations of Cyprus and Israel, and the signing of bilateral agreements and MoU between Cyprus and Israel. In view of the new trilateral meeting Natanyahu has talked about the possibility of laying a joint Israeli-Cypriot-Greek gas pipeline to Italy.

Foreign Ministers of Cyprus and Greece to hold consultations in Nicosia

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, will meet today with his Greek counterpart, Nikos Kotzias, in Nicosia. The consultations between the two Ministers will focus on bilateral relations, the Cyprus problem, EU – Turkey relations, as well as on European and international current affairs, with special emphasis on regional developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.

Energy Minister in Cairo for talks with Egyptian Petroleum Minister

Minister of Energy Yiorgos Lakkotrypis will have talks on Monday with Egypts Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla with the participation of delegations of the two countries. The meeting’s agenda includes the intergovernmental agreement on a pipeline from Cyprus to Egypt, EU-Egypt relations in the field of energy, as well as regional energy partnerships.

Lakkotrypis will return to Cyprus on Monday afternoon.

Cooperation is essential for the exploitation and development of joint gas reserves, says Shmuel (Sammy) Revel, the Ambassador of Israel to Cyprus, noting at the same time that the two countries have a transparent and productive dialogue over block 12 reserves. In an interview with Cyprus News Agency, ahead of tomorrow’s trilateral Cyprus-Greece-Israel Summit in Nicosia, the Ambassador also notes that he expects progress to be made with regard to the EastMed pipeline and reiterates his country’s respect for Cyprus’ rights in its various maritime zones.

APOEL is one victory away from clinching its sixth championship crown

APOEL is one win away from clinching its sixth consecutive championship crown, following the conclusion of Match Day 9 of the Cyprus Football League’s play-off round. The Nicosia club defeated AEL in Limassol with 2-1 and kept the difference of one point from Apollon, who beat AEK of Larnaca with 3-0. If APOEL wins next week it will secure its sixth title and a place in the Champions League. Day 9 concludes with the match between Ermis and Nea Salamis for the play-off’s Group B’.
