Cyprus solution must be functional providing for a fully independent state, President says

The solution of the Cyprus problem must be functional and the state fully independent, President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades has said. President Anastasiades was speaking to the press after attending the doxology for the celebration of the national day of the October 28, 1940, at the Cathedral of Agios Ioannis, at the Archbishopric of Cyprus. Later on, the President received the salute of the student parade in front of the Greek Embassy in Nicosia.

Cyprus proceeds with its energy plans, Energy Minister says

The Republic of Cyprus will proceed with its energy plans, exactly as foreseen, Minister of Energy Yiorgos Lakkotrypis has said. President to participate in EU – Arab Summit in Athens

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades will participate in the 3rd EU-Arab Summit that will take place in Athens 29 – 30 of October. The Cypriot President will address the deliberations of the Summit which will be attended by heads of state and government of EU and Arab countries.

Spokesman comments on US Congressional Research Service’s report on Cyprus

President of Cyprus proposal to decentralize institutions and some responsibilities from the central federal government to the federal constituent states aims to improve the functioning of the federal political system, Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou has told CNA when asked to comment on the US Congressional Research Service report on Cyprus by analyst Vincent Moreli. Noting that the report is an analysis with assessments of a research service and does not reflect political positions, he said that the document will be studied.
