The Greek government does not refute or confirm information that has Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras calling the European institutions to cancel or postpone the EU-Turkey summit in Varna, Bulgaria, scheduled for March 26th.

President of the European Council agrees that there should be an EU reaction to Turkeys interference with Cyprus rights in its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), a government source told CNA. President Nicos Anastasiades met President of the European Council Donald Tusk, earlier Thursday in Brussels, to brief him personally on Turkeys intervention in the Cypriot EEZ, in view of the official briefing of the President to his counterparts at the informal EU27 Summit tomorrow.

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will support the position of Cyprus on the issue of Turkeys intervention in the exclusive economic zone after a coordination meeting with President Nikos Anastasiades last night in Brussels, a Greek government source told CNA. Alexis Tsipras will address the Informal EU27 Council this evening for that matter, right after the speech of President Anastasiades.

No meeting between ENI and Turkish Cypriot politician, Italian companys spokesman tells CNA

No meeting took place between Italian energy company ENI and Turkish Cypriot politician Kudret Ozersay a spokesman for ENI told CNA.

“There wasnt any meeting,” the spokesman replied, invited to comment statements by the so-called foreign minister of the Turkish Cypriot puppet regime in Cyprus Turkish occupied areas, Kudret Ozersay, who said that he went to Italy where he held contacts on energy issues.

Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides said that the international community ignores the fact that Turkey uses force or threatens to use force in the case of Cyprus’ exclusive economic zone, noting at the same time that Nicosia sides with international law. Developments in Cyprus EEZ concern the whole of the EU says French Ambassador

Developments in Cyprus Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) is an issue that concerns the whole of the EU, French Ambassador to Cyprus Rene Troccaz has said.

Speaking on Thursday evening during an event that took place at the University of Cyprus, the Ambassador said that France stands in solidarity with Cyprus and has proven so.
