Cyprus, Greece and Israel forge closer ties in trilateral summit

Cyprus, Greece and Israel forged closer ties, on Tuesday, in Nicosia, at their 4th trilateral summit in two years, in the context of which they expressed their commitment to go ahead with the preparation and signing within 2018 of an inter-state agreement on the construction of a natural gas pipeline connecting Israel, Cyprus, Greece, Italy and the rest of Europe, known as the EastMed.

A Memorandum of Cooperation was also signed on Tuesday between the chambers of Commerce of Cyprus, Greece and Israel, thus paving the way for new opportunities for business cooperation.

Cyprus, Greece and Israel signed Tuesday an agreement on the implementation of a sub-regional emergency action plan aimed at addressing oil spill pollution in the Mediterranean.

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades pays today and tomorrow a two-day official visit to Serbia, during which bilateral agreements between Cyprus and Serbia will be signed.

According to a press release issued by the Presidency, Anastasiades, who leaves today for Belgrade, accompanied by his spouse Andri Anastasiades, will hold during his stay in Belgrade, talks with his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic as well as with other high state officials.
