Chief Returning Officer says turnout in run-off elections stands at 10.9%

The turnout in Sunday’s run-off presidential elections stood at 10.9% at 1000 local time (08.00 GMT), compared to 10.5% at the same time during last Sunday’s first round.

Chief Returning Officer Kypros Kyprianou said voting was running smoothly at all polling stations in Cyprus and abroad.

He noted that, for comparison purposes, at 1000 local time the turnout was 12.2% in the 2013 run-off presidential elections, and 10.3% in the 2016 parliamentary elections.
