Building Permits in Cyprus increase by 13.4% in Q1 2017

Building permits in the first three months of 2017 have increased by 13.4% compared with the respective period of previous year, data released on Thursday by the Cyprus Statistical Service show.

In the period of January � March 2017 the issued building permits amounted to 1,451 compared with 1,279 in the first quarter of previous year marking an increase of 13.4%.

According to Cystat, the total value of these permits jumped by 29,1%, with the total area increasing by 28.8% compared with the respective period of 2016.

?he number of dwelling units recorded an increase of 36.6%.

Building permits in March 2017 amounted to 542, with the total value reaching Euros 115,0 million and the total area amounting to 115.6 thousand square metres.

These building permits provide for the construction of 412 dwelling units, Cystat said.
