The pilot phase of IMAGINE, an education project that was supported by the United Nations, involving Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot school children, has been completed today, an announcement by the bicommunal Technical Committee on Education says.
The programme, run under the auspices of the Technical Committee and implemented by the Association for Historical Dialogue and Research (AHDR) and the Home for Cooperation (H4C), took place in May with the participation of 160 primary school children ages 9-12.
The children came from four Turkish Cypriot and four Greek Cypriot schools.
Coordinators of the Technical Committee on Education, Michalinos Zembylas and Meltem Onurkan Samani, attended the closing event at the H4C.
The project will continue in the following school year (2017-2018) to include more primary and secondary school students from the two educational systems.
