Arrival of Prime Ministers in Crans-Montana not yet confirmed, according to a source

There is no confirmation as of yet regarding the arrival of Prime Ministers from the three guarantor powers in Crans-Montana, CNA learns from a Greek Cypriot source. Moreover, the UN headquarters are yet to officially confirm the arrival of UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, in the Swiss resort where the Conference on Cyprus is taking place.

Members of the National Council, together with the members from the Greek Cypriot negotiating team met earlier today and were informed by the President of Cyprus on the latest developments and the various scenarios.

Moreover, a series of meetings are taking place since Wednesday morning, notably a tA�te-A�-tA�te between Foreign Ministers of Greece Kotzias and Turkey Cavusoglu. Earlier, Alan Duncan, the British Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, also met with Kotzias and separately with the Turkish Cypriot leader, Mustafa Akinci. The UN Secretary General’s Special Adviser on Cyprus, Espen Barth Eide, is also expected to meet with all sides.

Deliberations are expected to resume this afternoon, at 19.00 Cyprus time (16.00 GMT), with conference participants focusing on the internal aspects of the Cyprus problem.

Before that, the technical committee on the mechanism for the implementation of the settlement will convene at 16.00 Cyprus time, and two hours later, at 18.00 Cyprus time, negotiators from both sides will meet with Eide.
