APOEL is one victory away from clinching its sixth championship crown

APOEL is one win away from clinching its sixth consecutive championship crown, following the conclusion of Match Day 9 of the Cyprus Football League’s play-off round.

The Nicosia club defeated AEL in Limassol with 2-1 and kept the difference of one point from Apollon, who beat AEK of Larnaca with 3-0. If APOEL wins next week it will secure its sixth title and a place in the Champions League.

Day 9 concludes with the match between Ermis and Nea Salamis for the play-off’s Group B’.

Results: Group A’: AEL � APOEL 1-2, Anorthosis � Omonoia 2-01, Apollon � AEK 3-0. Group B’ Alki Oroklini � Doxa 1-3, Pafos � Olympiacos 3-2, Ermis � Nea Salamis 19:00.
