Anastasiades says he and UNSG share the view that negotiations may shortly resume

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades said after his meeting on Wednesday in New York with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres that they both share the view that Cyprus negotiations may shortly resume, however, pending the referendum in Turkey, this is not probably the time for those on which progress depends to take the necessary decisions. Furthermore, Guterres reiterated the readiness and commitment of the UN “to continue supporting and facilitating the Cypriot owned and leader led process” Deputy UN Spokesman Ferhan Haq said during Wednedays briefing at UN headquarters.
