Alan Duncan returns to Crans-Montana with “hope for conclusion”

UK Minister for Europe Sir Alan Duncan has announced his return to Crans-Montana for the Conference on Cyprus with a video tweet.

We are here in Switzerland to really try to do our best to bring the reunification of Cyprus talks to a conclusion. They have been going on for a long time but the UK is very pleased to play its part. We are working with the two communities, the Greek Cypriots and the Turkish Cypriots, and of course Greece and Turkey and I hope, I very much hope that in the course of this weekend or the next few days we will be able to see the conclusive progress we need, he said.

The UK Minister for Europe is expected to stay in Crans-Montana until at least the end of Saturday’s talks.

He had attended the Conference on Tuesday, before its official opening, along with Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson. Then they had to leave on Wednesday morning due to parliamentary obligations back in London.
