Agriculture Minister to take part in COP24 Conference in Poland

Cypriot Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Costas Kadis, departs on Tuesday for Katowice, Poland, to take part in the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP24).

According to an official press release, the conference will discuss ways to reverse climate change and the implementation of the Paris Agreement on climate change.

Kadis, who will address the conference on Tuesday afternoon, is expected to assure that Cyprus is positive to the adoption of policies which enhance the efforts aiming at substantively tackling climate change.

Delegates from approximately 200 countries and organisations from all over the world will attend the Conference, aiming at an accord on the transition to cleaner sources of energy, in a bid to reduce emissions that cause greenhouse gases.
