15 patients treated for coronavirus at the Famagusta General Hospital

 Fifteen patients are being treated for coronavirus at the Famagusta General Hospital which is operating as a Referral hospital.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health Christina Yiannaki said that 15 are being treated at the hospital with two in the Special Care Unit and their condition has been described as stable.

One patient was discharged on Wednesday night and five others on Thursday. They will self-isolate at their homes for 14 days.

CNA sources also said a member of staff at the Gynaecological Department of the hospital has tested positive for coronavirus. The member of staff is not involved in patient care. Samples were taken from the person’s contacts.

Meanwhile, one of the new confirmed cases is a paediatrician of Paphos General hospital.

The doctor had come into contact with other doctors last week from departments where coronavirus cases were reported.
