House Speaker Annita Demetriou on Wednesday received the Qatari Ambassador Ali Yousuf Almulla with whom she discussed the Cyprus issue, energy developments, bilateral ties and the pandemic.
Demetriou, a House press release says, noted that the Cyprus problem must be resolved on the basis of the UN resolutions and the EU principles and briefed the Ambassador on the violations of the human rights of all Cypriots as a result of the Turkish invasion and occupation.
She said that the message to Turkey must be sound and clear that only the solution will offer conditions of peace, stability and welfare that will contribute to addressing regional challenges.
